What's Up With flyWill
I became more conscious of the garment industry when I was downsizing my closet. Here were all these amazing pieces I collected over the years of which a significant amount became damaged. Not major damages. Just a hole here or a rip there and some stains. Consignment stores wouldn't take it and I didn't understand the point of donating damaged clothes. Why should someone else wear clothes with holes in it.
I decided to upcycle those damages pieces and flyWill was born.
So instead of Goodwill. You got flyWill.
I remix damaged clothing that has been donated to me.
This top is made of damaged levi's and never used jersey textile that was left for waste as it had some discoloration in it.
I felt like the discoloration made it cool.
So this top and many other pieces were born out of those size 38 men's levi's.
You can shop the looks https://www.flywillco.com.

The Uniform
My deconstructed men's denim button up has become my post pregnancy uniform. I live in my Levi's. I wear this three times a week with 3 different pants that I made. I've become that girl that wears the same thing over and over again and it has been absolutely liberating during these months of nursing and loving my new little man. My denim button up goes with everything and messy nuances from my son doesn't take away from the cool of my shirt. As I became settled with my current look, knowing I no longer had to plan what to wear, I was relieved to have some me time and make a list of things I needed to get done for myself. One of those things is getting my eyes examined. Am beginning to have all those signs that I may need glasses. I've been mulling over it for a month and finally decided to make an appointment with my doctor.
I'm always amazed by how this universe works. I receive an email from marketing at Warby Parker about their new products. Literally the email pops up in my inbox moments after setting an appointment. I'm like oh yes! New products to review, I dig it, but with eyewear if I can't try them on, I can't cosign them. I have big eyes, big nose and full cheeks and I gotta do a fitting with frames in order to see what works well with my afrocentric features.
Well the folks at WP feel me and feel you too if you feel me.
I selected 5 frames from their website and they sent it over to me to try on. You have a few days to go through with your fitting.
You can choose a selection of both reading frames and sunnies.
I'm vibing a two tone get up for my face's uniform.
The Duckworth Cognac Tortoise and Bermuda Blue is my favorite.
The colors work for my skin tone as well as my denim uniform.
I love how the frames sit nicely on the bridge of my nose and the wings extend a bit beyond the lines of my face. But I'm just getting started with my fittings! Being a new mom means limited time being out doing fittings for myself. Having the opportunity to try the frames at my own convenience just makes perfect sense for my life right now. Now that I have the frames picked out for my reading glasses, I'm gearing up to try some additional sunnies from their new collection of sunglasses style.
Let me know how your fitting goes!

Upcycled Designer Styles in Vegas
flyWill is not just street style it is glamorous style. The remixes all designed and made by me takes you from day to night.
For the weekend I'm taking glamour with me to Vegas! Michelle Harmony is modeling my recent collection of designer upcycled fashion.
Seersucker halter, Vintage Levi's with Dolce and Gabbana wedges are pieces to my ensemble that will take me shopping, of course! Cute and Comfortable is key!
For a late lunch a quick blouse switch, eases the stress of putting together another ensemble. Vegas is hot baby! So keeping it breezy in lightweight fabrics is the goal. Black and white stripes are classics you can't go wrong with. The silk blouse ups the casual vibes of the denim. So the look is effortless chic!
For late night eats and dancing the vibe is vibrant. Separates feel youthful and fun which is what being in Vegas is all about. The sheer top is sexy and thats the energy you want to convey.
This is how you stunt on them in Vegas. If you're planning a trip check out some of the resort deals and start planning away with your Vegas style. Now what you do in your fits... well thats up to you!

The last few days were grueling guys!! I had to design, shop and style 25 costumes for a commercial production in 5 days. As consumers are processing information and advertising on a faster speed so is the production to create the marketing median. An adequate amount of resources and quick thinking helps the process move along. The project was the most fun I had in a while and I love it when I can laugh non stop on a job and taken seriously. The project was super confidential. Soon as I can share, I will. Hope you all had a very productive and positive week.

Old Man Chic
So that pimple on my face.... 2 nights I passed out with make up on! Big no no!! But I've been working so much the last few days I've been exhausted. I'm putting a lot of things in perspective as we're approaching the last 60 days of the year. The "What's next?" question has been rotating lightly in my head.

All of The Lights
You reach a point in life where you have to embrace the decisions you made in the past whether they were good or bad. I've made a lot of good ones, but I also made some horrible decisions that have taken me years to get over. What's most important are the lessons that I learned. I always tell my team to not get caught up on being perfect, as being right all the time is highly overrated. What's important is the recovery process and the accountability to make amends.

Bold and Bolder
Recently one of my guy friends asked me to take his adorable girlfriend shopping. She was an Island beauty with perfect skin and a great personality, but her fashion sense..........................
She wears bright colors often but the ensembles were too much of a parade, there was nothing to streamline the look and keep it chic. So we went shopping together and her warm bubbly personality mandated rich hues. I couldn't put her in the NYC gal formula of all black. I told her the key to wearing bright colors at the office is to wear something that will anchor the look. If you're going to wear a bright top, pair it with something clean neutral and chic on the bottom. This rule also applies vice versa.
There is nothing silly about beautiful bright bold colors!! The parade look begins when we wear it without stability.
I'm wearing some of my fav pieces that have been worn in previous posts! I live for a dope remix.
