Old Man Chic

Photobucket

So that pimple on my face.... 2 nights I passed out with make up on! Big no no!! But I've been working so much the last few days I've been exhausted. I'm putting a lot of things in perspective as we're approaching the last 60 days of the year. The "What's next?" question has been rotating lightly in my head.

The first 30 Minutes....

of my day is spent on the phone, refreshing my memory on historic moments in menswear and flipping through Elle magazine for the detailed market coverage on affordable and expensive fashion finds.

Thank God for another day and another opportunity to express through the way we dress!

CBS

Photobucket

Photobucket

Before I get to posting a daily entry on my blog I go through dozens of pictures and select the photo that best represents the fashion moment I'd like to convey. But sometimes it gets tough to make a selection and I ask my beau or my assistant. But what always surprises me is how my boyfriend always goes for the more personable photo where I look approachable and friendly. My assistant and I tend to go for the ultra fierceness "move out the way" looks. It says a lot about how women view themselves and how men view us.

In this picture I was leaving the CBS studio where I was part of a filming session explaining my work and encouraging others.

I can't wait to post the goods with you all!!

Thanks for all the continued support!!

xx

Did you notice something different about me??

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Have you all noticed the summer do'? I'm on the go all Summer and I needed a hair do that reflected that lifestyle. I've been jet setting from one city to another and if there is one thing I don't want to worry about is my hair. The humidity we've had in NYC has been unbearable and I don't want my hair to have to fight it too much. So a short weave was calling my name.

After a week of working non stop this white Sangria with mango chunks made my weekend flow a little bit easier.

Mr. Maytag?

Photobucket

So what do you do when your dishwasher decides not to work?? Turn it into a backdrop for a photoshoot! My latest fashion highlights are the only sparkle in my broken appliance, so much for Cascade, I left it up to the accessories to light up the drab! These pieces are my latest wardrobe kickbacks! They are giving me what I need right now in order to avoid cleaning up Saks 40% off sale!

Necklace: I can't find the tag, but I got it Loehmann's! This is why accessory designers need to brand their pieces!!

Mix it up!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

When it comes to mixing prints, I do without hesitation. The matchy, matchy thing has never been my forte. I am especially glee about Spring trends encouraging fashionistas to do the most with all of these vivacious prints. The goal is to balance the mix. Centralize the effect with a solid color belt or shirt. Keep the colors coordinated to avoid feeling lost in all the design momentum.

Let me know how you all do!

Get outta my Junk Yard

Photobucket

While I was having my stoop sale on Saturday a designer came by and purchased a few items. We did a swap for this ring from her jewelry collection. It reminded me of a trunk full of random broken pieces you would find at a junk yard or flea market. She turned these random scattered pieces into a chic piece of art!

This trend of designers that are recycling pieces of art and turning them into jewelry is so in right now!! Wear it with your basic tees, boyfriend jeans and ethnic scarves with my current hunt right now, Giuseppe for Thakoon shoes!

Bad Boy Girls

I'd like to have some brew with these ladies and ask them what would be a conservative thing to do! So many fanciful ideas run across my mind when I gaze deeply into this robe from Gaultier. As one of the original bad boys of fashion Gaultier has always told us that its in Vogue to step outside of our well mannered clothing and step into a groove that propels us to be outside of our comfort zone.
I feel that immensely in these illustrations!
I push the same sort of vitality in my life. Not only should we dress fashion but we dare to live it and flaunt it.

@ Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood

Hollywood and Sunset Blvd were hotspots these last few days in LA. Hachy and I were at a pre production meeting for our editorial shoot reviewing and styling looks with fashion director Kenneth Goh. We were fooling around once it was over!

Acting foolish really maintains our sanity sometimes!

I could not get enough of Hachy's Lumberjack chic look. Especially with all the gorg curly hair! Adorable!!

I turned my trench coat into a dress and belt it with my favorite BCBG belt!

Thursday's Art Gallery

On Thursday my friend Katharine and I went to see Taylor and Mackenzie grand art debut. Artists Aja-Ann Trier, Laura Meyers, Kelly Worman, Max langhurst, Julia Fernandez-Pol, Jenny Keith-Hughes, Matthew Adam and guest Fashion Photographer TOMAAS showcased their expressive work. It was in depth and the stories that the images bespoke sent pretentious conversations all across the gallery.

When ChloƩ Inspires

Photobucket

ChloƩ's Fall collection has been on my hit list of fashion moments to re-create through out my wardrobe this season. I've had this coat for quite some time but it needed a lil bit of work and I still would love to put more tailoring into it. I added bright blue hosiery to give life to the muted camels. I love neutrals and bold colors together. It takes the look from wallpaper to artwork. In this oversized photograph, I was leaving some friends near the Hermes store in Lower Manhattan to rush to Brooklyn!

I'm almost always photographed on the go! It makes my daily blog entries feel more authentic as to how most stylist really live.
