I purchased this necklace from an incredible vintage dealer who just relocated from Chicago to New York. She has a great supply of ... well... anything and everything cool. I could not stop myself from going through her stack. But this particular necklace fascinated me because it felt very _________!!! I am trying to figure it out. I spoke to Hachy and she said it felt very Etro. Good call, as Etro as notorious for their ethnic inspirations, but I searched several of their last collections and could not make the connection. The Louis Vuitton collection is more African than it is Indian (India that is). The necklace is made in India and rather than a sticker it is engraved in the back of the big dial, which usually means that it costs a little more from a manufacturing perspective. What do you think? Who was inspired by this? What recent designer jewelry collection bit off of this vintage piece?
