Hourglass

Photobucket

Christina Hendricks was recently featured in New York magazine modeling the new lingerie-as-outerwear trend and I must say I am elated by the continuous feature of curvy women across mainstream magazines. I've been a huge fan of the show Mad Men, primarily because of the amazing costumes and script writing. I have dozens of posted noted above my desk with random quotes pulled from the show. Like this one:

"People buy things to realize their aspirations."

Advertisers and fashion editors are realizing that women's aspirations are beyond 34 B cups and size 2 jeans. Women are getting breast and butt augmentations. They are increasing the size of their lips, adding extensions to their hairs and sculpting their bodies to have fuller hips. I don't know about you but the message is clear to me! More Means Sexy!! They have taken notice and are indicating that in fashion. If we can't find our fantasy, ambition or goal in an ad we're going to tune it out. Women of fuller figures are going to buy into a product that says; "I meet your needs!" If it doesn't say that we're on to the next! Fashion shouldn't sacrifice our sexiness, it should be an extension of who we are.

So glad that the fashion world is taking notes.

Curves Ahead

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

V Magazine zeroed in on the forgotten symbol of femininity; curves, flesh and voluptuous breast. I was elated to see such a beautiful spread. I pulled some of my favorite pictures from the size issue due January 14th. This is the epitome of what purveyorofstyle stands for. Fashion has to work for the woman beyond a size 6 and I am here to showcase how style transcends the sample size.

Curvy Gals Guide

Sorry if I just bombarded your inbox with dozens of the same posts. I've been slowly figuring out this photobucket transfer of pics to my blog thing and I've still loads to figure out! Anyway. Sophia Loren is one of my fashion icons. She was curvaceous and knew how to show it off with confidence. I adore such a lady, like Mae West. It reinforces my belief that there is a runway for the curvy chicks! A good corset shows off our assets.

Pink and Glass

Photobucket

I recently pulled this photo from celebrity blogger necolebitchie.com site. The photo is from the Fame Monster Deluxe Album artwork booklet by Kanye West and Lady Gaga shot by Dave LaChapelle. All the orchids and floral arrangements remind me of New York's Spring Runway shows. An assortment of floral prints in exotic combination, a keen attention on trim decadence (glorious frills, feathers, and an abundance of shine).
