Schiaparelli Matchy Matchy!

One of the first European trendsetters, she coordinated with matching bags and shoes. She understood the concept of snobbery; believing her fashion depicted the lifestyle of the rich and then translated such exclusivity to the working class society through pricing. Schiaparelli had a very distinct and fresh philosophy on fashion. She knew good taste and entertainment. I believe upholding such is what creates fashion moments worth living for. If you have a refined palette for what people like and you can entertain them while designating fashion you can create style.

Above is a gown by Schiaparelli. Beautiful dress but the matching shoes is a bit toooo much for me. The second photograph is from Harper's BAZAAR Jan 2009 issue photographed by Solve Sundsbo. There is something extensive about the shoe being the same fabrication as the garb. I can only appreciate it for stage! Its an uncontrollable ego. Years ago I designed a dress inspired by Versace and I wore it with these shoes that were the same fabrication. It was a strange silk jersey shoe and my dress with silk jersey as well in green apple. I was so obessed with what I created that it extended everywhere.
